Like everyone else, I noticed the D5000 launch. I'm sure it'll do well as a product, it ticks all the right boxes. That's not really what I need to say though.
I noticed something interesting in the promo PDF for the D5000: it looks like Nikon has finally figured out a lens line up that works for DX.

Yeah! Finally! These four lenses are clear good choices for a DX camera system. I might pick a 70-300VR myself, or wish for a cheaper wide-angle, but that's picking nits. Until the launch of the latest lenses, I think the DX lineup was severely tainted by an overabundance of cheap kit zooms.
